Summer Camp Programs 2011

Our specialized Summer Camp Programs are designed to give students more opportunities to learn and participate in other aspects of music outside of their private lessons. They are meant to give students a head start in their music education, while having fun in a relaxed environment

Guitar Introduction Camp Age Range: 7 to 14 yrs old This Guitar Camp is for beginners. You will learn melody playing, chords, strumming, notation, rhythm and basic technique.

Piano Introduction Camp Age Range: 6 to 12 yrs old This Piano Camp is for beginners. You will learn to read music, counting, rhythms, & basic technique.

Glee Club Song & Dance Join us and learn to sing and dance the songs from the hit show which our very own Glee Club will be based on.

Songwriting Class The course will teach: Common songwriting formats in popular genres Lyrical content and how to avoid clichés Common chord progressions Different voice types according to genre Recording tips and more

Master Piano Classes Our new Master Piano group classes allow advanced students to enhance their musical knowledge, playing technique and public performance skills in a unique program. These fun group classes are designed to build strong live performance abilities and bring each musician to a higher level. Students will meet and perform for each other on our new concert grand piano and receive encouraging critiques to better their capabilities. They will have the opportunity to perform solo and with an ensemble. Our Master class students will also have the opportunity to perform outside the classroom at different venues!

Master Vocal Classes This program offers a new approach to vocal training in an acoustic concert setting. Designed to enhance performance qualities, the master class meets one hour every other week to learn, share and perform vocally. Students will sing solo and with the group. Students will be featured in high caliber performances and will have professional accompaniment provided for them during master classes and recitals. Each student will also have an opportunity to perform for competition or recital. These unique opportunities will help increase each student's general music knowledge in all areas and ensure successful performances. We will discuss on stage posture, sound placement and character developments to create a higher level of performance.

Choir Program This program will feed your desire for musical knowledge. You will learn the basics of music theory, history, sight reading and ear training, vocal health, how to sing in a group environment, self evaluation and much, much, more.

Rock University 8 Week Session Age Range: 7-18 yrs old Experience first-hand what it's like to be a REAL Rock 'n' Roll Musician. Participate in LIVE, ON-STAGE Classic Rock 'n' Roll Concerts!

This summer we will be offering an 8 week program with one concert. Students attend a 3 hour rehearsal once a week either on Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Build Your Own Guitar In this class you will build a real electric guitar! You will install pickups, a fret board, tuners, learn about setting up a guitar, intonation and more. After the camp you will have your own guitar to keep and play.
