Lesson Policy

Registration:

A non-refundable fee of $21.00 per student is required at time of registration. Registration fee for three or more students registered at the same time in the same family will be $42.00.

Payment of Fees:

Tuition is paid monthly at $24.50 per week for guitar, bass, drums, piano, keyboard, flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone. Specialized lessons of voice, cello, violin, viola, and oboe are paid monthly at $27.00 per week. Payments are due on the first (1st) day of each month. Payment must be made by one of two payment programs. 1) ACH Program, (automatic electronic debit program), where we automatically debit any major credit card or checking account on the 1st day of each month. 2) Security Deposit Program, which requires a security deposit of one month of lessons at the time of registration, along with the first monthly lesson payment. These programs are highly secured programs; therefore, you must be 18 years or older to fill out registration form. All lessons require 30 days written notice to withdraw from lessons. If 30 days written notice is not given to lesson desk coordinator, you will be subject to pay for lessons for that 30 day time period. All payments made after the 10th of each month will be charged a $10.00 late fee. All refunded checks for any reason will be charged a $25.00 return check fee. All returned electronic debits made from a checking account will automatically be re-charged once and a $25.00 return check fee will be applied. There are no contracts for music lessons.

Missed Lessons:

Each student will be entitled to two (2) make-up lessons per calendar year with notice prior to lesson. Student must call lesson desk to notify us that you will be out for lessons and request a make-up. We will notify you two (2) times of teacher’s availability to schedule your make-up lesson. If you decline both options, you will be subject to lose make-up. Same policy will apply for second make-up in the calendar year. No Show students (without phone call to lesson desk) will not be entitles to a make-up lesson for missed lesson. Students are entitled to two (2) vacation credits per calendar year after you are with the lesson program for 90 days and account balance is current. You must notify lesson desk coordinator of request with dates and give two (2) weeks notice. If this policy is followed, you will not be charged for these two (2) time slots per calendar year.

Substitutions:

The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach class. If a teacher is unavailable and the school cannot arrange a substitute teacher, any missed lessons will be made up by teacher.

Care of Students:

The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for any students. Parents with students under the age of ten are asked to remain in the school during classes. Students are not to be left for an excessive amount of time before or after lessons. Students are expected to follow a code of behavior at all times while on school or retail store premises. Damage to Old Towne Music property or inappropriate behavior/language will not be tolerated.

Injuries:

Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school or retail store property resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after lesson class times.

Photo Release:

Old Towne Music is hereby granted permission to take photographs of the students to use in brochures, websites, poster advertisements, and other promotional materials the school created to promote its music lesson program. Permission is also hereby granted for Old Towne Music to copyright such photographs in its name.

Purchase of Gift Card for Music Lessons:

The purchase of a gift card for music lessons is the payment of lessons for its dollar value. All lessons, when booked, are still under the “payment of fees” program and students do need to sign-up on ACH or security deposit program at the time of registration.
